Point your tracker at our test address and watch its messages arrive as they come in. You see whether we can read it. It is free, and you do not need an account.
A test lasts up to 10 minutes. You can stop it at any time.
How it works

Find the tracker number
It is printed on the tracker or on its box. It is usually a 15 digit IMEI. Some trackers have a shorter device number, and that works too.

Open the test and choose your model
Type the number and pick your model from the list. The test then shows you the server address and the port to set on your tracker. Use TCP.

Send the setup SMS
Your model's page on supported trackers has the setup SMS for it. Set the address and port the test shows you, since those are the ones that count for the test.

Start the test
Tick the box to accept the terms, then press Start the test. Then restart the tracker, or switch it off and on, so that it connects to us afresh. Only messages from a connection made after you press Start are shown.

Watch the result
Messages appear as they arrive, with what we could read from each. If they come through, we can read your tracker.

A live status line
The tracker number, the address it is sending to, how much of the test is left, and how many messages were read and not read.
The messages
Each message as it arrives, with a plain title. Filter by All, Positions, Others and Not read. Older messages load when you ask for them. Switch the bytes between hex and text.
How each message was read
Open a message to see its bytes coloured by the field they belong to, the fields we read from it, and the reply we sent back to the tracker.
The latest reading and a map
The newest position, whether the fix is good, speed, ignition, power, signal and network, each from the newest message that carries it. Positions are drawn on a map that opens to full screen.
A stop button and a report
Stop the test whenever you like. When it ends, a banner says why: time is up, the message limit was reached, or you stopped it. You can download a report of the test.
Help when it does not work
If nothing arrives, the test tells you what to check. If messages arrive but we cannot read them, you can leave an email and we write to you when your tracker works. On any message that looks wrong, you can tell us.
Limits and terms
A few rules keep the test fair for everyone.
- Ten minutes, 500 messages
- A test ends after 10 minutes or after 500 messages, whichever comes first. Start another to listen again.
- One test per tracker at a time
- If someone else is testing the same tracker number, you are told it is busy. If the tracker is yours, there is a button to tell us, and we look into it.
- A limited number of tests a month
- Each tracker can be tested a limited number of times in a month without an account. A test that gets no messages does not count. If you need more, you can ask us, or sign up: people with an account have no monthly limit.
- A shared test, and a quick check
- Part of the test is kept for people with no account, so it can be full. If it is, try again in a few minutes. You may also be asked to pass a quick check that you are a person before you start.
- What is kept
- You accept the terms before the test starts. We keep every message your tracker sends to the test address, with the tracker's number, to check and improve how we read trackers. The live view is dropped after 24 hours. We keep a short record of each test for 12 months. It holds the tracker number, the times and the counts, and none of the messages. The page sets a cookie only to show you your own test.
- Only trackers you may use
- When you accept the terms you say that the tracker is yours, or that you are allowed to use it.
Questions
Does it cost anything?
No. The test is free.
Do I need an account?
No. Open the test and start. You only sign up when you want to add the tracker and see it on your map.
What if my tracker does not show up?
Check that the address and port you set are the ones the test shows, that the SIM has mobile data, and that the tracker has a signal. Restart the tracker after you press Start, since only a connection made after that is shown. If it is still silent, find your model and send its setup SMS again.
What if messages arrive but are not read?
Leave your email when the test offers it, and we write to you when your tracker works. If a reading looks wrong, you can tell us on that message.
Is my data kept?
The messages your tracker sends to the test address are kept with its number, to improve how we read trackers. The live view is dropped after 24 hours, and the short record of the test is kept for 12 months. Starting a test asks for no name and no email. You give an email only if you want us to write when your tracker works.
